Amazon’s Kindle Publishing Service
October 7th, 2008I have submitted my book, Fast & Furious Book Promotion, to be available as an ebook on Kindle. However, after uploading my book, I have been unable to set up my account. When I looked into this issue, it appears many other people are trying to set up their accounts as well with no success and it appears this has been going on for some time. The service is still in Beta. You might want to wait until the service actually works before wasting too much time. I’ll keep trying and when I can successfully set up the account and actually see my book available for sale I’ll let everyone know.

Thanks for sharing this. I’m getting ready to give Kindle a try, so it’s helpful to know there’s an issue. Please keep us posted.

Have an out-of-print book that I would like republished and sold. Is this the way to go ?

Miriam,
Yes, I believe using Kindle is one option. However, as of today, I’ve still not been able to test it myself due to the account issues I talk about in the post. Booksurge is now running the kindle program and I have been in discussions with them. I will try again this week. You may want to email me at info@authorsonthenet.com and we can start a dialogue.
I’m assuming that since your book is out of print that the rights have reverted back to you and you will affix your own ISBN. If so, there are many things you can do to promote and distribute your book. I’d be happy to speak with you in more detail.
