Getting More People to Review Your Book
Once you have successfully submitted your book, the next step is to invite your fan base to come and review your book. Here are some keys to getting reviews:
- Think in terms of an event that has a deadline. Two to three months is pretty good. And when that event is done, start a new one.
- At the end of your event, give something away for free. A signed copy of your book, a T-Shirt, a video. The more aggressive you are, the more reviews you should get.
- Make it very easy for your fans to find your book. The best way is to give them a direct link to your profile page. Here's how:
- Click on your book to go to your profile and look at the top of the screen.
- Your book page URL looks something like this: http://www.authorsonthenet.com/general-nonfiction/how-to-become-a-total-failure-the-ten-rules-of-highly-unsuccessful-people This is the direct address to your profile. It's a long address (URL), so the best way to send this to your fans is to click on the address to highlight it and then use "CTRL+C" to copy the entire URL.
- Tip: you can create a shorter URL by going to Tiny URL It's easy and takes less than a minute to create a more manageable URL.
- Draft an email to your fan base and paste the entire URL (CTRL+V) in the body of your message. This way, all your fans need do is click on the link to go directly to your profile and review your book.
- You can also send this link to your fans so they can invite their friends and family to come review your book.
