The first part of the DRILL system is to develop realistic goals for your online book publishing and sales, or better yet, develop “One” realistic goal. The more you can focus, the better. Knowing what your goal should be takes a little thinking, and before you can create the right goal for your book you need to know what kind of book you have, what market need your book answers and the size of your target audience.

What is YOUR goal? As an author it’s a help to have goals.  Take a moment and write your goals down. Be honest with yourself and be creative. If so, your chances of getting published are even harder. Maybe your goal should be to simply get something you’ve written published so you can begin to be noticed in the publishing world. Or maybe your goal is to become an expert in your field and a book is one step toward that goal. You are one of 4 million authors and you have unique goals. What are those goals?
