Each book is unique and rarely do "proven" strategies work for all books. At Authors On The Net, we show you what strategy is and how you can go about inventing a strategy that will work for you book. Some people will try to convince you they have a "sure-fire" system for becoming a best-selling author. I view all "guaranteed" systems with a hearty dose of skepticism. Our approach at Authors On The Net is that authors need to Invent their own book strategy. Helping authors invent their own strategies is the thread that runs through the entire concept at AON.

The “I” in the DRILL System stands for “Invent Your Strategy.” You might want to ask me why I’ve called this “Invent Your Strategy” and that would be a good question. My answer is that I do not believe that any ONE strategy will work for all books and I also believe that the only person who can create the right strategy for your book is YOU.

The strategy we are talking about in the DRILL system is an authors promotional strategy for their book. We see the Internet as a vehicle for anyone to promote himself or herself. You will not see brash statements by Authors On The Net claiming we can help you sell thousands of books. No one can guarantee book sales. That’s why bookstores get to return their unsold books to all the mainstream publishers, you know, those guys who are so good at choosing books that will sell well.

Our intent at AON is to educate authors on the tools they can use to help authors with their book strategy and get the word out, because the first reason a book won’t sell is that no one knows it exists. Our promise to our customers at Authors On The Net is that if an author uses the tools outlined on our website, the author will expose his or her book to the marketplace, which is the first step in the book-selling process.
